• Prohibition was the ban on sale of creation, sale of alcohol was introduced in a constitution amendment in 1919. 46/48 states actually ratified it!

18^th Amendment

• It was repealed in 1933 after problems with enforcement and increasing evidence it was a cause of crime as gangsters traded in alcohol illegally.
