Quantities

Derived Units – all units for every physical quantity in Physics are made up of the SI Base Units, known as Derived Unit.s e.g. F = ma [m = kg, a = ms-2, F = kgms-2]

Homogeneous Equations – an equation is homogeneous if the units are the same on each side of the equals sign/ All physics equations are homogeneous. e.g. W [J] = Ep [J] + Ek [J]

Scalars – quantities which are fully described by a magnitude alone e.g. mass, distance, speed, energy

Vectors – quantities which are fully described by both a magnitude and a direction e.g. force, displacement, velocity
